Full race 2 1/4″ small spring kit designed to be used on all models of 105 series Alfas. Designed using CAD & CAM this spring kit does not require the use of a spring pan or a heavy full size Alfa style spring. This constitutes a massive weight saving (4.2KG per corner!). It bolts directly to the outer spring pan holes on the standard wishbone.

It features a fully adjustable threaded spring platform allowing the front ride height to be altered quickly and easily, without removing the spring. This also allows a much finer and more accurate control when corner weighting the car, essential for shaving the last few tenths off lap times and for improving driveability. This gives all the benefits of a coil over unit without any of the structural problems of mounting a coil-over unit to the inner wing. The pivot pin design has recently been updated to include the front anti-roll bar fixing; thus our rose jointed anti-roll bar drop link directly fits this pivot pin; this results in further weight saving and improved simplicity of design.

The mounts come finished in hard anodizing.

These dampers have been in development for many months; firstly with rigorous bench dyno testing to set the valving range and bump and rebound characteristics. Followed by thorough fast road testing and culminating in a 3 day test at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The Nordschleife has become The development ground for all the major car manufacturers. With its array of both slow & fast bends, varying gradient, surfaces and camber changes spread over a 13 mile lap, it really is the ultimate testing ground. Our extensive experience at the Ring with 105 Series Alfas would make this the ultimate development programme for our dampers.

Bilstein dampers are OK up to a point for track day and mild race use, but we have found them to have fundamentally flawed characteristics. This means that body control & direction change is compromised on circuit, whilst road ride quality is also not optimal. The damper valving data we have acquired over the last 5 years whilst running our Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT racer on F1 spec dampers across a range of historic, semi-slick and full slick tyres, from street to F1 circuits, has been collated and applied to these new Alfaholics dampers. This means that whatever the application of your car, be it track day, historic race, or modern tyre racing, these Alfaholics adjustable dampers can be adjusted to the perfect setting for your application.

They feature specially machined fittings, enabling standard fitment for both the front and the rear of the car, with the added benefit of the front using a spherical bearing for its lower mount giving extra accuracy and durability. The rear has been designed to allow the spring to be damper mounted with threaded platforms to enable accurate corner-weighing for race cars. Alternatively the original chassis spring seating can be used if coil over is not permitted in your race series.

The adjuster knob is a CNC machined billet aluminium item with positive ‘clicks’ offering excellent ease and accuracy of adjustment. We have designed these adjusters to be mounted at the base of the dampers, as top mounted adjusters are extremely difficult to reach on these cars.

Testing at the Nurburgring proved that the new dampers radically improve turn in and composure during fast direction changes. The car remained far more settled over kerbs providing greater confidence on the limit and therefore higher cornering speeds. A wet and very greasy morning session showed that being able to soften the rear dampers below Bilstein settings, vastly improved turn in and mid corner speed and made the car far easier to drive on the limit. Speeds that previously with Bilsteins would have led to an accident were shrugged off corner after corner with ease! The other key objective we were looking to achieve was an improved ride quality on the road, with the dampers set in the softer positions. This was tested and adjusted during the 1000 mile round trip to the Ring. On their softest setting the ride quality was remarkable, nearly comparable to our fabled fast Road Kit, even with mild race springs!

In their stiffest positions they give a range of settings perfect for slick shod race cars with adjustment allowing for a differing stiff spring rates, circuit types and driver preferences. As the shocks are adjusted softer they give adjustment to suit settings for semi slicks, lightweight GTA race settings, historic tyres settings, wet weather settings down to the softest settings which provide beautifully compliant ride for track day cars on the road. These Alfaholics shock absorbers represent the ultimate damper solution for all track day, rally or full race 105s!

Manufactured using the latest technology of water-jet cutting, from 1″ thick aluminium plate. By lowering your 105 considerably from standard ride height, shock absorbers made to factory specification, run low in their range of travel. They then run the risk of bottoming out and damaging the internal valving. Fit these 1″ extender blocks under your steel top hat turrets to lift the shock 1″ further back into the middle of its stroke range.

Early cars such as Sprint GTs and GTAs have shorter turrets fitted with an original cast aluminium block similar to these we have manufactured. However, often over the years these are forgotten about during a rebuild and the shocks will then bottom out before the car goes on to its bump stops. If your car does not have them fitted, ensure you fit these to prevent damage to your shock absorbers.

CNC machined kit replaces the original bottom ball joints fitted to your 105 series Alfa Romeo, to optimise the front suspension geometry of all 105/115 series cars. These geometry improvements make the car far easier and more predictable to drive on the limit, as well as being faster. The retention of original wishbones allows the kit to be used in more tightly regulated race series (such as SVRA) where original suspension arms must be retained, but it also makes this kit perfect for both fast road and track day 105 Series cars. This kit is fully compatible with both our FIA 2 ¼” kit which retains springs pans and our full race adjustable ride height kit which removes them.

The kit increases castor by being offset forwards and also corrects the front rollcentre back above ground level, in so doing increasing the roll-on camber at the same time. These significant problems of all 105 series Alfas with standard geometry make lowered cars far harder and slower to drive than they should be. A typical method of reducing the camber and castor problems with standard geometry is to start with more static camber, but this itself has 2 major problems; reduced footprint for braking but more significantly, increased nervousness, particularly on uneven and cambered surfaces. The increased roll-on camber and castor provided by this kit allow a reduced level of static camber to be set, vastly improving the drivability of dual-purpose road and track cars.

This Alfaholics kit is supplied with rose jointed outer track rods with specially pre-machined pins that remove bumpsteer completely. No special setup equipment it required! The complete eradication of bumpsteer makes the car far easier and more enjoyable to drive, as the steering wheel no longer kicks around in your hands, when the suspension moves up and down over bumps and under braking.

Also included are a pair of ‘shock extender pins’ (for use with Koni or Bilstein shocks) which reset the travel of the shock absorber back into the middle of its travel, just as our ‘Shock Turret Extenders’ do for the rear suspension. Our aluminium adjustable front dampers do not need these extender pins.

All parts are CNC machined to the very highest standards and then plated. All rose joints and bearings are PTFE lined self lubricating items, whilst the outer track rods are finished in black powder coating.

We have developed these CNC machined billet uprights to tackle the final remaining engineering flaw in the design of 105/115 series front suspension when used in a high performance application. What started off as a project to eliminate brake pad knock-back, has resulted in one of the single biggest improvements for performance 105 series driving!

Alfa designed the uprights with relatively small diameter spindles for mounting the front hub/disc assembly, which suited the standard wheel/tyre package the factory used. However, when these original uprights are used with modern tyres, the cars suffer from a long brake pedal after going through a series of corners (either on the road or track) that require the brake pedal being pumped once to get the bite point back to the correct pedal height – this effect is known as “pad knock-back”. This occurs when the spindle flexes in the upright due to the loadings from the wheel/tyre, resulting in the disc being able move beyond its normal axis, thereby forcing the brake pads away from the discs, causing the long brake pedal. To tackle this issue, we have completely redesigned the uprights using a larger diameter spindle and a more robust fitment area where they interface the upright in order to significantly increase rigidity.

While redesigning the uprights, we also took the opportunity to address the pickup geometry of the upper and lower ball joints. With careful analysis and computer simulation of the KPI, scrub radius with our 7x15” GTA wheels, roll camber correction factor and roll centre height, we have modified the upper and lower ball joint locations to optimise all these important suspension kinematic factors. The benefits of this redesign is handling with a faster transient response times in direction change, improved tyre temperature distribution across the tyre face, reduced tyre wear, reduced steering effort and reduced kick back from the steering in oversteer condition. The result you experience when you drive with these uprights is without doubt the single biggest improvement to the suspension of any performance 105 series car! Steering weight is transformed, making sticky track day Yokahama AD08 tyres feel like 185 section road tyres at parking speeds, whilst there is less torque in the steering during oversteer corrections.  The front of the car is now even more precise and better conveys the limit of adhesion through the steering to the driver.

These uprights are designed in conjunction with our top specification GTA-R front suspension components in order to extract the very best out of the cars.  That means they need to be fitted with our geometry kit and our titanium top wishbones. Due to the modified upper and lower pickup positions, these uprights must be used in conjunction with our steel angled quick steering arms (not our billet aluminium straight versions) in order to retain the correct bumpsteer geometry. These uprights have been optimised to fit with our 6-pot brake kit and have 1750/2000 (89mm) caliper bolt spacing. They can be used with other brakes that are compatible with 1750/2000 uprights although you may need to modify the disc offset.

Supplied as a pair with a matching set of wheel bearings and hub oil seals to work with the factory wheel hubs. Also supplied with a pair of short outer track rod taper pins and a range of spacer shims to allow you to optimise your bumpsteer which are designed to be used with our steel quick steering arms and rose jointed track rod kit (available separately).

Following on from the huge success of our billet GTA-R uprights for narrow body 105 Alfa, we have developed a new set designed specifically to address the significant front steering geometry issues that wide-body 105 series cars suffer from. We all love the look of a wide-body GTAm type car, but the driving experience never lived up to the looks.

With nasty tram-lining and excessive kickback in the steering. This issue is caused by the excessive scrub radius of the steering/suspension geometry that results from the heavily offset wheels being used with standard factory KPI which was of course never designed for wide offset wheels. With the recent commissioning of a wide-body GTA-R build for a customer, we chose this time to address this well-known issue with a re-design on our GTA-R upright, adjusting the KPI to significantly reduce scrub radius down to narrow body levels. Road testing this first GTA-R has proven a remarkable change in the characteristics of the steering; for the first time a wide-body car drives precisely, with razor sharp steering response and an ability to carry speed with total confidence over heavily cambered and rutted surfaces, exactly as well as a narrow body GTA-R.

These uprights are designed in conjunction with our top specification GTA-R front suspension components in order to extract the very best out of the cars.  That means they need to be fitted with our titanium geometry kit and our titanium top wishbones. Due to the modified upper and lower pickup positions, these uprights must be used in conjunction with our steel angled quick steering arms (not our billet aluminium straight versions) in order to retain the correct bump-steer geometry.

These uprights must also be fitted with our 6-pot brake kit.

Naturally to make these wide-body geometry changes, we have had to make certain components of the titanium geometry kit and the 6-pot brake kit to a different design than our ‘normal’ parts to be compatible with the new upright geometry. If buying these uprights as a standalone item and not as a full GTA-R 290 Ultraleggera Titanium Suspension package, we will need to add additional components on top of this upright kit dependant on what Alfaholics suspension parts you might already have – in this case email us with what you already have and we will work a custom package for your individual application.

The kit is supplied as a complete set for both sides of the car, complete with titanium top arm inner bolt & nut, titanium top ball joint bolt & nut and titanium castor tube bolt & nut. You simply screw your castor arm ball joint on to fix the front mounting point to the chassis.

CNC machined billet titanium wishbone arms with titanium 4-bolt version cross pins and titanium nyloc nuts – save an incredible 5kg over factory parts! We have designed these arms for direct fitment to all 105 series cars with 4-bolt version engine cross members.

Cars with 2 bolt cross members can retro-fit these arms by modifying the cross member to latest specification, as per the period Alfa technical bulletin. Dependant on your race series regulations, they can be used in conjunction with our lightweight spring pans or our fully adjustable 2 1/4″ conversion and with either a factory bottom ball joint or our geometry kit lower pickup. The arms use race type spherical bearings rather than the factory metallastic bush to ensure greater geometry precision.

Laser scanned from a genuine original Autodelta kit to create CAD models to manufacture identically.

Aluminium castings with added ‘Alfaholics’ logo discretely added into a surface that is not obvious when installed. Doing this enables our kit to be identified so future owners know they have got Alfaholics quality and also ensures that our parts can never be passed off as genuine original.

The machining of the slider guides and block are very precise tolerance to ensure optimum clearance for both smooth movement and to ensure they are not too rattily. This tolerance is the most important part of the whole system and why our kits are supplied as a complete matching kit.

The kit is supplied with motorsport quality rose joints, stiffening plates to add to the boot floor (just as Autodelta did) and all the bolts to install the assembly.

Complete the installation with our specific Autodelta type sliding block axle casing, which we offer in either aluminium or magnesium listed in ‘related products’ below.

In racing, the height of the rear roll centre severely restricts the car’s ability to put its power down properly. This conversion lowers the rear roll centre significantly and prevents the axle moving from left to right under heavy loading. A significant upgrade for racers that will shave seconds off lap times.

CAD designed adjustable via rotatable blades, this makes adjustment incredibly simple and fast, requiring no unbolting of components or jacking of vehicle. A mere loosening of an extremely accessible bolt is all that is required to adjust, so can be performed in the pit lane. This also makes the bar infinitely adjustable between full stiff and full soft.

It is mounted under the front of the trailing arms, permitting fitment even if aftermarket axle linkages such as Watts, Panhard or Mumford are used, which usually add huge complexity to rear bar fitment.
