Giulia TZ

Mechanical Rebuild & Detail Work

Having previously restored 2 car for our long standing customer, he decided that he wanted to find a TZ to add to his collection. We helped him source a suitable car in the UK and got it back to Alfaholics.

The goal was to have the car back to its original factory specification but with performance tuned mechanical setup to make the car suitable for both light historic competition use as well as displaying at Concours events.

We stripped all the mechanical components off the chassis, stripped down all the brakes and the steering. Originally plated parts that had since been chromed or painted, were sent away for correct factory plating finish to be applied and major suspension members were sent for powder coating before being reassembled.

We rebuilt the original matching numbers engine and upgraded it to road/rally specification, we rebuilt the gearbox and installed our race quality synchro and bearing set and rebuilt the axle installing our competition LSD unit.

During the assembly we also corrected any small details that were not correct to ensure the car was as period correct as possible in its detailing. The original exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated white as per factory colour spec and the new Alfaholics magnesium wheels painted the correct Campagnolo colour.

Once completed and road tested, the car was shipped from Alfaholics to Pebble Beach to take part in the annual Concours d’Elegance.
