1600 GTA (FIA App.K)

Our customer purchased a nice factory RHD 1600 GTA Stradale which had lived most of its life in the south of France and was prepared for occasional mild road rally use.

Our customer wanted to use the car for U2TC circuit racing and occasional road use for events such as the annual Tour Auto road rally. We modified the car, updating its specification to be suitable for the intended use of its new owner.

This included the following work; rebuilding the original twinspark plug GTA engine to 165BHP specification which retains beautiful tractability and torque for its road driving along with high revving power for circuit use.

The axle was rebuilt with a GTA  7×41 axle ratio and our competition LSD unit. We fitted our fully welded in race rollcage, but retained the headlining as our customer had requested, a special method was used to drop the cage in the car to allow each joint to be fully welded whilst not risking damaging the headlining material, it was then masked very carefully inside so the rollcage could be painted satin black. We fitted our 100L FIA fuel cell for FIA race compliance, along with a plumbed in gas fire system and a new race seat and harness set. The suspension was fully rebuilt and fitted with our FIA compliant race suspension kit. Items such as our lightweight laminated windscreen, lightweight race battery conversion, stainless steel race exhaust system and magnesium 7×14″ GTA wheels ensured that the car got as close to the homologated weight limit as possible when starting from an already prepared body.
