With the shell media blasted we then fitted it onto our factory Celette chassis jig. It dropped straight on with all points aligning correctly, confirming that the chassis has not had any accident damage. With the shell installed on the chassis jig we can go about the repair of the steelwork, fitting new floor and sill sections. The outer aluminium panels have been removed making the steel repair work easier and allowing the mating surfaces between aluminium and steel to be repaired and sealed prior to having the aluminium refitted – this will make the corrosion resistance of the dissimilar metals much improved from original. Whilst the wings are removed, we will take the opportunity to fit them on our wing manufacturing tools to ensure their profiles and shapes are 100% correct.
