| Alfaholics Fast Road Suspension Kit We have developed suspension kits for fast road use suitable for all 105 series cars: comprising 4 lowered and uprated springs and a 29mm anti-roll bar. When combined with either Bilstein or Koni shock absorbers, it radically transforms the handling of the car and the way it turns into corners. We recommend the removal of the rear anti-roll bar and replacing certain bushes with the polyurethane equivalent. Comprehensive advice on fitting, ride heights etc., is given on purchase of the kit. 3 different ride height kits are available to ensure the kit is tailored to your individual specific requirements and usages (Kit A, Kit B or Kit C). Kit A is our standard ride height kit for Giulia saloon or rough rally spec increased ride height for GT, Kit B lowers GT/Spider 1" from standard (making a Giulia 2-2.5" lower) and Kit C lowers a GT/Spider 2-2.5". | Alfaholics Adjustable Blade Rear Anti-Roll Bar Superb CAD design. | Alfaholics Trackday/Race Front Suspension Geometry Pack This beautifully CNC machined kit replaces the original bottom ball joints fitted to your 105 Series Alfa Romeo, allowing your car to benefit from the superb geometry improvements of our tubular wishbone kit whilst still retaining standard wishbones. This makes the car far easier and more predictable to drive on the limit, as well as being faster. The retention of original wishbones allows the kit to be used in more tightly regulated race series (such as SVRA) where original suspension arms must be retained, but it also makes this kit perfect for both fast road and trackday 105 Series cars. This kit is fully compatible with both our FIA 2 ¼” kit which retains springs pans and our full race kit which removes them. The kit increases castor by being offset forwards and also corrects the front rollcentre back above ground level, in so doing increasing the roll-on camber at the same time. These significant problems of all 105 Series Alfas with standard geometry make lowered cars far harder and slower to drive than they should be. A typical method of reducing the camber and castor problems with standard geometry is to start with more static camber, but this itself has 2 major problems; reduced footprint for braking but more significantly, increased nervousness, particularly on uneven and cambered surfaces. The increased roll on camber and castor provided by this kit allow a reduced level of static camber to be set, vastly improving the driveability of dual purpose road and track cars. This Alfaholics kit is supplied with rose jointed outer track rods with specially pre-machined pins that remove bumpsteer completely. No special setup equipment it required! The complete eradication of bumpsteer makes the car far easier and more enjoyable to drive, as the steering wheel no longer kicks around in your hands, when the suspension moves up and down over bumps and under braking. Also included are a pair of ‘shock extender pins’ which reset the travel of the shock absorber back into the middle of its travel, just as our ‘Shock Turret Extenders’ do for the rear suspension. All parts are CNC machined to the very highest standards and then plated. All rose joints and bearings are premium quality PTFE lined self lubricating items, whilst the outer trackrods are finished in premium black powder coating. | Alfaholics T45 Tubular Wishbone Kit This wishbone kit is the ultimate upgrade to perfect the front suspension geometry of your race 105 series Alfa. It is made from the ultimate strength steel tube known as T45, with chemically matched steel billet for the CNC machined parts. All is fully TIG welded. They are essential in order to get the whole car working perfectly. When the ride height of a 105 with standard wishbones is lowered for racing, the wishbones pass the horizontal at static ride height, lowering the front roll centre significantly below the ground. This has several severe adverse effects on the geometry and handling characteristics of the car. The increase in negative camber when the suspension rises becomes negligible, and when added to the roll of the car in the corner it leads to ‘roll on positive camber’ (i,e, the camber reduces in cornering). This causes the outside edge of the tyre to overheat easily leading to understeer and thus, accelerated tyre degradation. Another significant problem of having the rollcentre very low is that roll at the front of the car is increased. This leads to excessive roll in corners and excessive ‘3-wheeling’. A further problem of standard wishbones is that they are symmetrical about the centre line of the top suspension arm. Thus, very little castor is achievable before either the tyre touches the rear of the arch bulkhead, or the top arm touches the chassis leg. Fitting these tubular front wishbones not only reduces the un-sprung weight of the front suspension, but also vastly improves the geometry. By attaching to the underside of the bottom part of the upright, they lift the front rollcentre back above the ground, thereby increasing roll-on negative camber. As they are asymmetrical the amount of castor available is greatly increased. They also reset the ratio of the front to rear rollcentres when used in conjunction with the Alfaholics Watts Link Kit, this ratio is critical in maintaining high speed stability and driveability. This ratio is maintained at a good height at which traction is optimised without having large roll characteristics. With all the rose joints fully screwed in, the wishbone is the same length as a standard wishbone, rose joints may be screwed out to widen the front track and inner rose joints may be screwed asymmetrically to further increase or decrease available castor. The Alfaholics Tubular Wishbone Kit is used in conjunction with the Alfaholics Full Race 2 1/4” Small Spring Kit, so those of you who already have this kit need not worry that it becomes obsolete. The Alfaholics Tubular Wishbone kit comes complete with modified cross pins, premium quality rose-joints (the outers being stainless steel PTFE lined self lubricating items), all bolts to 12.9 spec, aircraft quality K-nuts and Schnorr safety washers. All sleeves and machined parts are included and made from the highest grade EN24T. The kit is completely reversible, requiring no chassis or upright modifications, so if you ever end up racing your car in a series or a 1-off race where you must use standard wishbones, it is a simple unbolt and replace job. | Solid Aluminium Shock Absorber Turret Extenders Manufactured using the latest technology of water-jet cutting, from 1" thick aluminium plate. By lowering your 105 considerably from standard ride height, shock absorbers made to factory specification, run low in their range of travel. They then have a risk of bottoming out and damaging the internal valving. Fit these 1" extender blocks under your steel top hat turrets to lift the shock 1" further back into the middle of its stroke range. Early cars such as Sprint GTs and GTAs have shorter turrets fitted with an original cast aluminium block similar to these we have manufactured. However, often over the years these are forgotten about during a rebuild and the shocks will then bottom out before the car goes on to its bump stops.
