Re-built Bosch distributor with re-mapped advance curve

The Bosch units fitted to most Alfa Romeo 105 Series cars up to the late electronic units have proved to be unsuitable for use with modern petrol. This type of fuel has a different burn rate from the old 4 star petrol available when the cars were new. Thus, compromises need to be made to the timing. Usually this is done by a reduction of the maximum advance at speed, to avoid dangerous detonation; however, this also brings an unfavourable reduction of the idle setting which causes erratic running and poor starting.
These distributors have been re-calibrated to make the advance curve more suitable for modern fuel and to avoid the problems inherent in the old units. They can be supplied for standard/lightly tuned or full race engines of all capacities.
