| Alfaholics 4-Pot Brake Kit Exclusively designed and manufactured for Alfaholics, this kit represents the ultimate 4-pot brake upgrade for 105 series Alfa Romeo! The kit is a result of an extensive development programme consisting of thousands of miles of both circuit and fast road use on our own cars. We have used this experience and data to evolve our existing offering and produce an all-new 4-pot kit incorporating significant improvements in caliper design, as well as machining quality. By designing a bespoke caliper for the 105 series, we have been able to eliminate the compromises associated with a generic 'off the shelf' item. For example, we have been able to enlarge the caliper where necessary and at the same time increase the number of cross bolts from 5 to 8 in total. These two key features have dramatically increased the rigidity of the caliper, thereby improving pedal feel and reducing pedal travel. This has also resulted in considerably increased stopping power! Mounting brackets are available for either small uprights (1300/1600) or large uprights (1750/2000), to ensure that this kit fits all 105 series cars. The new caliper fits inside both the Alfaholics 6x14” GTA Strada and the Alfaholics 7x15" GTA Veloce wheels. In developing this new caliper, we have chosen not to use dust seals to allow the caliper to withstand higher brake temperatures. Max has run his GTA Replica using calipers without dust seals for 3 years and some 20,000 miles with no adverse effects. In fact, having recently stripped the calipers down to their component parts, they are still as new! The reality is that for mainly fair weather use, dust seals are not necessary as the calipers are not exposed to winter road treatments often enough to need them. However, for customers who wish to have dust seals, we shall continue to stock our previous production. The kit is supplied complete with all bolts, lock nuts, washers and hydraulic fittings, ready to fit directly to your car with no modifications. | Alfaholics 6-Pot Brake Kit Exclusively designed and manufactured for Alfaholics, this kit represents the ultimate braking for extreme trackday & full race 105 series cars! This kit has been prototyped and perfected over the last 2 seasons on the Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT Racer to provide the very highest braking power and consistency under the most strenuous race conditions. The rotor is 20mm larger in diameter than our 4-pot kit, increasing the total surface area by 20%, and the width is increased by 8%. This results in even higher braking force, modulation and improved heat dissipation. During development we were not happy with the weight of normal off the shelf rotors in this larger size, so we had our own rotors designed and manufactured. The results are a 25% weight saving over similar off the shelf rotors and with further improved cooling characteristics. The caliper features 2 smaller leading pistons and a larger trailing piston; this ensures zero taper wear occurs when the elevated temperatures seen in racing leave the pads most susceptible to taper wear. By using 6 pistons per caliper we have been able to increase the pad surface area by 25% from that used in our 4-pot kit, this not only results in increased stopping power and longer pad life but also helps to control pad temperatures under full race conditions. The caliper has been designed to be as large as possible in certain critical areas to maximise rigidity and has been designed specifically to fit inside the Alfaholics 7x15” GTA wheel range (or larger). | Adjustable Dual Circuit Brake Balance box Alfaholics production. To fit right hand drive only. This box directly replaces the standard Alfa / reproduction brake master cylinder whether it is a single or dual circuit set up. It bolts onto the outside of the chassis leg using the standard fitment points, no modification is necessary. It uses a pair of Girling race brake master cylinders with an adjustable balance bar allowing the front to rear brake bias to be adjusted easily. A remote bias adjuster cable can be screwed onto the end of the bar to allow the bias to be adjusted from the cockpit whilst driving! (as shown in photo) This kit further permits master cylinder size to be optimised, which is especially important if non-standard brakes are being used. Servos may also be removed, which as well as saving cost on replacement items allows for unservoed brakes – a particular bonus for pedal feel, so crucial for racing. A spherical joint is fitted in the front of the box where the pedal rod enters the box to improve rod movement. | Alfaholics Hydraulic Handbrake Kit Alfaholics production. Fit this superb kit to transform the capabilities of your rally/autocross car. This kit plumbs directly into the existing rear brake line, so no complex and heavy mechanisms are required. It fits to your original handbrake lever, with the ratchet removed. As you pull the lever, the rear line is pressurised from the point of the in line race master cylinder. The rear wheels are locked in isolation from the rest of the brake system. Letting go of the lever, releases the pressure and the rear brakes unlock. If foot pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the pressure coming down the rear line forces the handbrake to release for extra security. The bracket mounts directly to the existing centre propshaft support so fits all 105 models with the later, stronger centre support mount. Clients whose cars have early centre supports (i.e. small propshaft cars) can fit this kit with a simple conversion to the later HD centre mount, a worthwhile modification, we feel, for any competition car with an early propshaft mount.
