| Re-built Bosch distributor with re-mapped advance curve. The Bosch units fitted to most Alfa Romeo 105 Series cars, have proved to be unsuitable for use with modern fuels because the original advance curves set by Bosch were not designed for these fuels. This type of fuel has a different burn rate from the old 4-Star petrol available when the cars were new. As a result, compromises need to be made to the timing. Usually this is done by a reduction of the maximum advance at speed to avoid dangerous detonation; however, this also brings an unfavourable reduction of the idle setting which causes erratic running and poor starting. These distributors have been re-calibrated to make the advance curve more suitable for modern fuel allowing correct maximum and static advance to be achieved. Supplied with brand new points, rotor cap and condenser they are ready to fit directly to your car. You can also specify an electronic points system to be fitted to further enhance the performance of your new unit. We supply the units with various advance curves for either standard, tuned or full race engines of all capacities. Other units are available on the market with fancy technology, but they do not address the route cause of the problem; that modern fuels require different advance curves from those originally used.
