Stage 7 - Dashboard & seats return
Due to the future use of the car at trackdays, seats with good lateral support were going to be essential. It seemed impossible to find such a seat with a degree of style or taste off the shelf. One quick phone call to Chris Adams @ Classic Car Inertiors (01803 732454) confirmed that he would be happy to retrim some racing seats. Two Sparco Rev racing seats were bought along with Sparco inflatable lumbar supports. Chris sent me some leather sample books and a suitable dark grey leather hide was chosen, 1/2 perforated, 1/2 normal. A matching grey vinyl was picked for the door cards. The dashboard from the car (similar to that photographed below) was in a terrible state and Chris told me that it would be no problem at all to trim it in the vinyl. A black Alcantara was chosen for the dashboard top and bottom edge.
Fake wood dash similar to the donor dash, but in much better condition!
Finished article!
Finished seat, perforated leather centres with standard leather shoulders, Chris put extra ribbing in the centres, an inspired addition!
