Originally red, C/N 00144 was sold early in 1961 by Alfa Romeo to their French Importers, Automobiles Renault, who quickly sold it to their Works Renault Rally Driver of the time, Pierre Orsini, a French Corsican. Pierre campaigned the car with much success in International events for the next three years, to start off with in its original red colour, then following a front end crash repair, he changed the colour to metallic blue with two white stripes, presumably much like his Works Renault rally cars.
The car was subsequently sold in the south of France and gained fibreglass wheel arches, wide wheels and a white and red paint job, before being officially written off in 1972, following yet another front end crash!
After lying abandoned outside for a number of years, the car was acquired by a Porsche Garage in Nice and put in a storage facility and forgotten about. Following a move to new premises in 2004, it was finally discovered and sold to our customer in Paris. Although damaged and very rusty, its authenticity and originality were unquestionable!
The car as it was found in the South of France!

Car being collected by Alfaholics in Paris
White paint ground back to reveal original blue and white stripe colours still underneath!
Chassis number
Severe chassis rot clearly visible!
All detail parts still with car, one of the things to thank from being written off so early in its life!
