Ready for Body Refitment/Remanufacture

Finally now our SZ is back on its wheels! We set the ride heights approximately to how it will run and returned it to our aluminium shop for the final fitment of the body work. The outer panels, which returned from the acid dipping company a while back, have been taken out of storage and laid back on the car to see what we have to work with. Surprisingly, despite initial appearance,  the panels are in quite good condition. The panels are all original and have not been subject to previous repairs, so we have a great basis to work with and all the original wings will be reused just with the appropriate new sections (such as original wheel arch profiles) making and welding into them.

Pick-axe damage clearly visible from when it was originally discovered in an orchard in France!

Nose panel is the most damaged panel; we have 3-D scanned a very original SZ to capture the nose detail and will be making an eggbox to remake our nose to ensure perfect accuracy.
