Stripped Shell Arrives for Preparation

Stripped steel shell arrives from customer in mainland Europe. The car which is thought to have originally come from North Africa, was thick with filler - up to 12mm in some areas, and had clearly had a hard life.

First job was to fully remove the steel outer panels, blast complete chassis, etch prime and fit on our Celette jig to allow us to assess the condition of the chassis frame to ensure it is of suitable condition to use for the project.

Shell found to have had many very poor quality repairs made in the past, with a complete new rear end having been fitted at some point from the rear wheel arches back at least once in its life, potentially twice! Front scuttle under wiper mechanism found to be complete corroded out along its length!
