Alfaholics 6th annual trackday for classic Alfa Romeos will be held at Castle Combe on Saturday 14th April 2007.

Due to the bumper packed success of last year’s 105 series only formula, we shall be repeating this again in 2007. Owners of all 105 series GT, Saloon, Spider and Montreal are welcome to sign up and revel in the opportunity to drive their cars at speed in a non-competitive environment. The day has become a huge success in recent years and the 105 series formula has multiplied this success. It offers a unique opportunity for 105 series enthusiasts to chat, compare cars and ownership experiences, whilst taking part in the ultimate form of 105 series enjoyment; circuit driving.

Last year some 20 Norwegian customers along with Carburetti magazine, took part in a fantastic road trip across to the UK for a long weekend to take part in the Alfaholics Trackday, a day of country road driving on Exmoor, as well as visiting the Alfaholics premises. Due to the popularity of the trip, we would like to invite all our international clients to join in!

For those who wish to stay over the weekend, we shall be organising accommodation, as last year, in the Novotel hotel in the fabulous nearby historic city of Bristol. We can offer accommodation for Friday and Saturday night, at a special discounted rate of £85 inc. VAT per room per night, on a bed and breakfast basis. This can either be a single, a twin or a double room. Thursday night is also available for those coming from particularly far away or for those wishing to participate in Friday's activities. Castle Combe, situated between Junctions 17 and 18 of the M4, is 1.85 miles long, combining slow corners with fast curves that make for extremely exciting and challenging driving. Once again, instructors will be on hand to offer advice and demonstrate cornering technique, whilst all corners will be 'coned' to show turn in, clipping and exit points. With only 12 cars on the circuit at any one time, there will be virtually unlimited track time. Additional drivers in any cars entered will be welcome.

Those wishing to attend as spectators will be warmly welcomed and, if driving an Alfa, may take part in a 3 lap circuit parade over the lunch hour.

The Tavern Restaurant in the paddock will be open all day serving food and drinks for the benefit of all.

Signing on will be held in the Howard Strawford Centre followed by a circuit briefing by the Clerk of the Course, Andrew Banks, before familiarisation laps with instructors at 9am when the circuit opens.

Castle Combe is particularly strict on noise emission, with an absolute limit of 99dB(A) at 4500rpm, measured on a static test of 0.5 metres from the end of the exhaust pipe at 45º. This means that cars should use a standard exhaust, or a sensible sports system. The Alfaholics sports exhaust is fine. However, if the worst comes to the worst, add on silencers are available from Merlin Motorsport in the Paddock on the day.

Good news is that prices will once again remain the same! i.e. £150 + VAT, with additional drivers £65 + VAT. One to one instruction is £20 + VAT per 15 minute session, pre-bookable, or on the day, if available. We highly recommend you pay the small charge for this, as the pleasure obtained from the day is greatly enhanced.
