Alfaholics 1600 Race Crankshaft
Exclusively manufactured for Alfaholics. Its 8 counterweight design results in improved smoothness at high revs due to the piston/rod assembly being better counterweighted than is possible with a standard 4 weight crank. This allows the engine to be revved higher to produce more power with greatly increased reliability. The oil gallery positions have been optimised to provide superior lubrication of the bearings when most required in the cycle. The original 'half moon' system for locating the flywheel bolts has been replaced with direct threading of the crank using M10 bolts for improved strength. New Alfaholics Racing Differential
Superb new production, manufactured exclusively in the UK for Alfaholics by a state of the art limited slip diff manufacturer. These new diffs represent a huge leap forward in design over our old Gripper units. The old Gripper units used a basic uncoated steel friction plate design and, as a result, necessitated a very high preload setting in order to achieve the levels of friction required in a race diff. The new Alfaholics racing diff uses the same copper sintered friction plate design as developed by leading World Rally Car teams - M-Sport Ford and Prodrive Subaru. This high-friction coating allows the static preload pressure to be set lower, resulting in a more progressive diff lock-up that not only provides superior traction, but also makes the diff far easier to drive on the limit; the tail of the car slides more slowly and provides greater driver feedback to control the slide. The copper sintered coating is more durable and eliminates the overheating issues associated with untreated plates under hard competition use. The diameter of the ramp crosspins has been increased in order to reduce internal wear and add significant strength to the diff.

We have carried out extensive testing in order to optimise the new diff on both road and track, which has led us to develop two different ramp settings depending on your application. One setting is for race, extreme trackday and higher BHP use whereas the other setting is optimised for road/rally application and for less powerful cars. Each diff is manufactured with both sets of ramps on each cup, so you can choose which setting you want, especially useful if your type of use changes! A simple internal swap turns a race diff into a road/rally spec diff and vice-versa. We can supply the diff with either setting as standard.

The results of the diff development are stunning – both settings offer a dramatic transformation over the old Gripper unit. The race setting provides amazing traction under power (allowing the driver to apply the throttle much harder and earlier) whilst also providing improved adjustability of the car under hard braking and turn in. The road/rally setting provides improved progression under power and further stability under braking than our old road Gripper making the car easier to drive under road & rally conditions. With each setting, the car is more stable during turn in and holds its line much more accurately allowing the driver to place the car with greater precision. When the tail does slide, it is progressive and easy to balance!

The new Alfaholics diff is also 7% lighter than the Gripper unit – a useful reduction in unsprung and rotational weight at the rear of the car.

This diff is available in both small non-LSD and larger 2000 ZF casing sizes, and with 3 different side gear designs to suit small non-LSD halfshafts, bigger 2000 LSD halfshafts and 1300GTA/TZ coarse spline halfshafts. All these parts are interchangeable to allow you complete choice of fitment options both now and in the future if your application changes.

High Performance Battery Charger
Anodized aluminium cased 10A charger. This top quality 'intelligent' charger is capable of bulk charging any 12 volt battery. It is also designed to be left connected permanently, providing a very low current trickle charge, in order to keep the battery at 100%. This trickle charge is carefully regulated by microprocessor so as not to damage the battery. An LCD screen shows the state of charge of the battery.

The charger is compatible with any household electricity supply ranging from 100-240V AC. It is supplied with a UK IEC lead but any kettle/PC type lead around the world can be used to power the charger and make it compatible with local power sockets.

There is the option of using either crocodile clips or ring terminals to connect the charger to the battery. Both are supplied complete with the charger.

Lightweight flywheel & GTA clutch for 916 Series GTV 1997-2006
Most 3.0 GTVs and Spiders have a dual mass flywheel fitted as standard. These are very heavy at 12.6kgs (!) and tend to develop an imbalance over time as the internal intermediate mass spring system wears. This kit replaces the dual mass flywheel with a much lighter solid item which weighs just 8kgs and includes an Alfa Romeo OE GTA friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing.

We recently fitted this kit to the Alfaholics 3.0 GTV and the difference is amazing. Throttle response is dramatically improved as the engine is much freer revving and picks up better at low revs. The engine is also smoother, which serves to show that the old dual mass flywheel had worn and developed an imbalance. The feel of the clutch is also lighter yet more positive than the standard set up. It is a common complaint amongst 3.0 GTV and Spider owners that their clutch action feels notchy and "gritty". Well, the new clutch has cured this problem on our car - it appears to be a result of wear on the pressure plate which also makes the clutch action very heavy. You don't always notice these things deteriorate over time but this kit has transformed the car. This is an essential upgrade, especially if your clutch needs replacing!

Q2 Diff for 916 Series GTV 1997-2006
Alfa Romeo OE torsen type limited slip differential. Can be retrofitted without modification to 3.0 GTV and Spider.

The Q2 is a torque sensing diff that constantly adjusts the torque split between the front wheels so that it is biased towards the wheel with the most grip. When it senses an unloaded wheel start to spin, it transmits torque progressively across the diff to the wheel with greater grip, allowing the driver to accelerate earlier out of a corner and thereby achieve a higher exit speed.

We have recently fitted a Q2 diff to the Alfaholics 3.0 GTV and the result is stunning! Traction under hard acceleration is superb, especially when exiting a wet roundabout or powering out of an off-camber corner where the standard car is prone to understeer. The Q2 allows much more throttle to be applied in a corner and the car responds more positively to steering inputs when on the limit of grip under acceleration. It is also noticeable how much the Q2 reduces torque steer, especially in the wet and when the front tyres are worn. Under hard acceleration with the standard open diff, the steering wheel will often tug in your hands as it tracks imperfections and surface changes in the road. With the Q2, the extra grip at the front wheels is immediately noticeable as the car holds its line and feels much more sure footed. This is a fantastic upgrade! Approximate fitting time by an experienced mechanic - 2 hours.

Alfaholics Aluminium Adjustable Trackday/Race Dampers
Exclusively manufactured for Alfaholics by a leading UK race damper specialist. These dampers have been in development for many months; firstly with rigorous bench dyno testing to set the valving range and bump and rebound characteristics. Followed by thorough fast road testing and culminating in a 3 day test at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The Nordschleife has become THE development ground for all the major car manufacturers. With its array of both slow & fast bends, varying gradient, surfaces and camber changes spread over a 13 mile lap, it really is the ultimate testing ground. Our extensive experience at the Ring with 105 Series Alfas would make this the ultimate development programme for our dampers.

Bilstein dampers are OK up to a point for trackday and mild race use, but we have found them to have fundamentally flawed characteristics. This means that body control & direction change is compromised on circuit, whilst road ride quality is also not optimal. The damper valving data we have acquired over the last 5 years whilst running our Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT racer on F1 spec dampers across a range of historic, semi-slick and full slick tyres, from street to F1 circuits, has been collated and applied to these new Alfaholics dampers. This means that whatever the application of your car, be it trackday, historic race, or modern tyre racing, these Alfaholics adjustable dampers can be adjusted to the perfect setting for your application.

They feature specially machined fittings, enabling standard fitment for both the front and the rear of the car, with the added benefit of the front using a spherical bearing for its lower mount giving extra accuracy and durability. The rear has been designed to allow the spring to be damper mounted with threaded platforms to enable accurate cornerweighing for race cars. Alternatively the original chassis spring seating can be used if coil over is not permitted in your race series.

The adjuster knob is a CNC machined billet aluminium item with positive ‘clicks’ offering excellent ease and accuracy of adjustment. We have designed these adjusters to be mounted at the base of the dampers, as top mounted adjusters are extremely difficult to reach on these cars.

Testing at the Nurburgring proved that the new dampers radically improve turn in and composure during fast direction changes. The car remained far more settled over kerbs providing greater confidence on the limit and therefore higher cornering speeds. A wet and very greasy morning session showed that being able to soften the rear dampers below Bilstein settings, vastly improved turn in and mid corner speed and made the car far easier to drive on the limit. Speeds that previously with Bilsteins would have led to an accident were shrugged off corner after corner with ease! The other key objective we were looking to achieve was an improved ride quality on the road, with the dampers set in the softer positions. This was tested and adjusted during the 1000 mile round trip to the Ring. The results were fantastic, on their softest setting the ride quality was remarkable, nearly comparable to our fabled fast Road Kit, even with mild race springs!

In their stiffest positions they give a range of settings perfect for slick shod race cars with adjustment allowing for a differing stiff spring rates, circuit types and driver preferences. As the shocks are adjusted softer they give adjustment to suit settings for semi slicks, lightweight GTA race settings, historic tyres settings, wet weather settings down to the softest settings which provide beautifully compliant ride for trackday cars on the road. These Alfaholics shock absorbers represent the ultimate damper solution for all trackday, rally or full race 105s!

Heavy Duty Engine Mount
105 series cars have always suffered from engine mounts too soft for competition use, this causes the engine to move too much under cornering. These mounts are significantly stiffer than standard mounts, preventing the engine moving around so much, whilst still being mounted softly enough to avoid undue vibrations. I have tried these on my GTA Replica and thought they were excellent. Use with our HD rear gearbox mount for best results.

Adjustable Dual Circuit Brake Balance Box - NOW FULLY CNC MACHINED
Due to the huge success of this kit we have now taken to the opportunity to go into mass production, allowing us to fully CNC machine the box from billet aircraft grade aluminium, giving a superb look to the kit!

Alfaholics production. To fit right hand drive only. This box directly replaces the standard Alfa / reproduction brake master cylinder whether it is a single or dual circuit set up. It bolts onto the outside of the chassis leg using the standard fitment points, no modification is necessary.

It uses a pair of Girling race brake master cylinders with an adjustable balance bar allowing the front to rear brake bias to be very finely adjusted. A remote bias adjuster cable can be screwed onto the end of the bar to allow the bias to be adjusted from the cockpit whilst driving, great for trackday and race use!

Because this kit uses a pair of race master cylinders, we are able to optimise the bore diameters to allow the servos to be removed whilst still having optimum power. As a result of not using the servos you get a dramatic improvement in the feel of the brakes allowing far better modulation of brake pressure and thus less chance of locking the wheels under heavy braking. The added bonus of using this system is a significant cost saving by not having to use expensive servos and reproduction Alfa master cylinders. Indeed this pedal box is cheaper to fit than a reproduction RHD dual circuit master cylinder and a pair of servos! As a result people in the process of building fast road/trackday or race cars from scratch have the unique opportunity to simultaneously improve the brake system dramatically AND save money!

A spherical joint is fitted in the front of the box where the pedal rod enters the box to ensure perfect fee movement of rod.

Kit comes complete with master cylinders, banjos for hydraulic fittings, brake rod, balance bar, spherical bearing, lid and bolts.

We recently bought an unrestored 1600 GTA with perfect bodywork from a private collection and used this unique opportunity to make a new production of front and rear GTA wings. Working exclusively with the official prototyping factory for Aston Martin, Bentley & Spyker, moulds were taken directly from all 4 wings on this GTA to create perfect resin bucks from which to manufacture the wings. This is the same process that is used to make runs of prototype cars and small runs of production cars for Aston Martin, Bentley & Spyker where the need to achieve perfect accuracy and consistency of panel shape & fit is essential.

By utilising this process, we have been able to ensure that the front wings have the correct larger front wheel arch flare, particular only to 1300 & 1600 GTA, a feature often missed from reproduction wings. They also contain all the correct pressing details such as the profile below the side light aperture and where the scuttle panel meets the front wing. They also include the stepped part of the front panel, the rain channel in the bonnet aperture and the return at the rear to allow them to be crimped to the A-pillar steel work.

Aluminium Carburettor Mounts - Short
Alfaholics Production, top quality CNC machined from billet aluminium. Over time, the original rubber mounts crack and leak air causing the mixture to weaken and consequently the engine to run roughly. Even the replacement reproduction rubber mounts have been known to crack prematurely and this has led us to manufacture these superb billet aluminium items for use as a direct replacement. They use premium quality rubber 'O' rings to form a perfect seal between the mount and the carburettor. These rubber 'O' rings, together with thackery washers (included in the kit), provide each carburettor with the necessary damping from engine vibrations. This 'O' ring set up is used widely for racing as it is considered to be the most effective and reliable method of carburettor mounting. The kit is supplied complete with studs pre-fitted in the mounts, 'O' rings, thackery washers and nyloc nuts. They are ported for standard 40mm carburettors, but will allow additional porting for up to 45mm carburettors.

Remote Oil Filter Kit
In racing there is potential that during prolonged periods of high revs, vibrations can cause engine mounted oil filters to loosen over a race. If something else in the car has broken, these vibrations become enhanced enough to potentially cause the filter to completely undo, ultimately leading to an off track excusion and engine rebuild! Protect your car from such problems with this superb remote oil filter kit, as fitted to the Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT Racer. The special sandwich plate feeds oil via the filter, to the cooler and then back to the engine. The filter housing is tapped to accept a standard capillary oil temperature probe. The kit is supplied complete with either 1/2 BSP or -10 JIC cooler pipe fittings.

Alfaholics GTA Close Ratio Gear Kit
This superb GTA close ratio gear kit has been manufactured exclusively for us by the UK’s leading transmission manufacturer, Quaife Engineering. Unlike any other kit on the market, we have directly copied an original GTA gear kit. As a result, the gears are not only scooped, but they are also drilled for further weight saving, just as original GTA gears. The layshaft is rifle drilled, as original, for further weight reduction. All these weight savings and consequently reduced inertia, result in a gearbox with a lightning fast shift speed both up and down the ratios. Not only does this mean a sweeter and more positive shift action, but on track a saving of several tenths of a second over a lap. This is a must for all racers!

We have considerable experience in using other aftermarket gear kits which feature full needle roller bearings on the mainshaft gears. These have proved to be fragile and we have suffered a number of failures. As a result, the Alfaholics GTA gears have been specially developed in conjunction with Quaife to feature partial needle roller bearings for reduced friction and part bronze bush to maximise strength in the gear. The tooth profile has also been improved from original to further increase the torque and power handling capacity of the box. As a result of these improvements in design, the Alfaholics GTA gear kit is not only the lightest kit on the market, but is also the strongest. The synchro dog teeth have been specifically cut to match original Alfa items so the gearbox can be built using original Alfa synchro hubs and rings. Ratios are as per original GTA Corsa but with a 0.85 5th gear, the best ratio for track use. The kit has also been designed so that 5th gear is interchangeable with original, so 0.79 and 0.88 ratios can be fitted instead if necessary.

Alfaholics 6-Pot Brake Kit
Exclusively designed and manufactured for Alfaholics, this kit represents the ultimate braking for extreme trackday & full race 105 series cars!

This kit has been prototyped and perfected over the last 2 seasons on the Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT Racer to provide the very highest braking power and consistency under the most strenuous race conditions.

The rotor is 20mm larger in diameter than our 4-pot kit, increasing the total surface area by 20%, and the width is increased by 8%. This results in even higher braking force, modulation and improved heat dissipation. During development we were not happy with the weight of normal off the shelf rotors in this larger size, so we had our own rotors designed and manufactured. The results are a 25% weight saving over similar off the shelf rotors and with further improved cooling characteristics.

The caliper features 2 smaller leading pistons and a larger trailing piston; this ensures zero taper wear occurs when the elevated temperatures seen in racing leave the pads most susceptible to taper wear. By using 6 pistons per caliper we have been able to increase the pad surface area by 25% from that used in our 4-pot kit, this not only results in increased stopping power and longer pad life but also helps to control pad temperatures under full race conditions. The caliper has been designed to be as large as possible in certain critical areas to maximise rigidity and has been designed specifically to fit inside the Alfaholics 7x15” GTA wheel range (or larger).

This kit, however, is not only for full race cars, it is also the ultimate solution for trackday cars looking for the very best in non-servoed braking.

The Alfaholics 6-Pot brake kit is only compatible with non-original master cylinder systems with optimised bore diameters.

Alfaholics Trackday/Race Front Suspension Geometry Pack
This beautifully CNC machined kit replaces the original bottom ball joints fitted to your 105 Series Alfa Romeo, allowing your car to benefit from the superb geometry improvements of our tubular wishbone kit whilst still retaining standard wishbones. This makes the car far easier and more predictable to drive on the limit, as well as being faster. The retention of original wishbones allows the kit to be used in more tightly regulated race series (such as SVRA) where original suspension arms must be retained, but it also makes this kit perfect for both fast road and trackday 105 Series cars. This kit is fully compatible with both our FIA 2 ¼” kit which retains springs pans and our full race kit which removes them.

The kit increases castor by being offset forwards and also corrects the front rollcentre back above ground level, in so doing increasing the roll-on camber at the same time. These significant problems of all 105 Series Alfas with standard geometry make lowered cars far harder and slower to drive than they should be. A typical method of reducing the camber and castor problems with standard geometry is to start with more static camber, but this itself has 2 major problems; reduced footprint for braking but more significantly, increased nervousness, particularly on uneven and cambered surfaces. The increased roll on camber and castor provided by this kit allow a reduced level of static camber to be set, vastly improving the driveability of dual purpose road and track cars.

This Alfaholics kit is supplied with rose jointed outer track rods with specially pre-machined pins that remove bumpsteer completely. No special setup equipment it required! The complete eradication of bumpsteer makes the car far easier and more enjoyable to drive, as the steering wheel no longer moves around in your hands, when the suspension moves up and down over bumps and under braking.

Also included are a pair of ‘shock extender pins’ which reset the travel of the shock absorber back intothe middle of its travel, just as our ‘Shock Turret Extenders’ do for the rear suspension.

All parts are CNC machined to the very highest standards and then plated. All rose joints and bearings are premium quality PTFE lined self lubricating items, whilst the outer trackrods are finished in premium black powder coating.

Alfaholics 55 Litre Rally/Trackday Fuel Tank
Superb new design! Foam filled aluminium tank. Made exclusively for Alfaholics to the highest standard of design and manufacture. Fits centrally between shock absorber mounts for optimum weight distribution and safety.

By designing the fuel tank with the collector pot on the left, it allows the spare wheel well to be used, making it perfect for rally and trackday cars. This has the added advantage of allowing you to use the bottom half of an original fuel tank to mount your fuel pump and battery if boot mounted. This mean all exposed parts can be separated away from tools, bags, helmets and other items you want to store in the boot. It also greatly improves the under floor air flow. We have noticed from our own race car that just blanking off the old fuel tank hole creates a trap for air passing under the car that not only slows the car but also deforms the shape of the back panel over time.

The manufacture of this fuel tank has been born from customer request, especially in rallying, and also from problems we have encountered on Max's GTA Replica after 3 years of fast driving. The originally perfect boot floor had flexed so much from up to 50kg of fuel tank trying to lift up and down, that it ended up stress cracking the boot floor, requiring significant weld repair.

It is fitted with a VDO fitment ring allowing a VDO sender and gauge to be fitted. If you have early Veglia gauges, we can supply a special electronic sender that is compatible with them as original, as fitted to Max's GTA Replica.

Alfaholics Xenon HID Headlight Kit
Dramatically improve the quality of the lighting of your 105 series Alfa with this stunning conversion to Xenon High Intensity Discharge headlights! The kit is beautiful quality, fully productionised and simple to fit using compact premium quality ballast units, tiny relay control box and fully waterproof snap fit connecters. The ballast units are specially developed to be compatible with the poorer condition wiring looms these cars often have.

The Xenon filled arc lighting burner units fit directly into your existing headlamps and are available in either H1 or H4 fitment type. You simply need to mount the ballasts and the relay switcher and feed a single power and earth into the system. The original high and low beam wires (green and grey) from your loom are merely used to switch the relay unit to control the Xenon burner to either main or dip beam, rather than actually supplying power to them.

The results are truly stunning, gone are the sipid yellow lights you were used to, replaced with amazing depth of vision and clarity with these super bright, super white lights. The added bonus is that current draw from the headlights actually reduces, these units are incredibly efficient and use a mere 35W of power rather than your original 55W!

It is also incredibily effective at clearing the outside lane of the motorway and is a real head turner in the paddock at trackdays!
